We select private equity, real estate and hedge fund managers from across the marketplace based on their merits and our due diligence.

We start with a top-down approach, pursuing themes that we believe have multi-year investment potential and managers whose strategies offer suitable thematic exposure.

To do this, our research analysts cover thousands of managers and conduct rigorous investment and due diligence reviews on potential candidates.

We then work with you to select the opportunities appropriate for your risk, return and liquidity goals.

Customization
We believe you should have many different ways to access alternative investments.

We offer single-manager funds if you seek to express a particular view or pursue a particular strategy.

We also offer fund-of-funds for broad-based exposure as well as custom portfolios for tailored access. 

In private equity and real estate, in addition to standard funds, we offer investment clubs, co-investment deals and separately managed accounts.

Dan leads a team of professionals in Boston, New York, London and Hong Kong dedicated to identifying key themes across alternative asset classes, and originating opportunities for clients.

Prior to joining Citi, Dan worked for Bank of America’s alternative investment group, focusing on private equity and real estate origination and investment management. Dan also has experience working on all aspects of the underwriting and monitoring process for a wide range of buyout, venture capital, and real estate investments during his career in Bank of America’s principal investing division

Dan holds a bachelor’s degree from Pennsylvania State University and an MBA from the University of Chicago.

Americas

Head of Private Equity and Real Estate Research and Management – Americas Jeffrey leads our team that sources, diligences, structures and distributes private equity and real estate investments to clients globally.

Prior to joining Citi, he was an associate at PRP Real Estate Investment Management, where he was responsible for the financial and investment analysis of real estate principal investments for two middle-market opportunistic real estate funds. He supported senior portfolio managers in the complete acquisition process including originating, underwriting, diligencing and structuring investments. He has experience across several property types including office, multi-family, industrial and retail sectors.

Previously, Jeffrey was a senior analyst with Jones Lang LaSalle, within its Public Institutions Group, focusing on US military housing-privatization and real property. Jeffrey holds a bachelor’s degree from Dartmouth College.

David is responsible for sourcing, diligencing, and distributing hedge fund investments to clients globally.

Prior to joining the Private Bank in 2010, David served as senior business development professional for Q Investments, a $3 billion credit/private equity firm. He was previously the senior credit hedge fund analyst in the US for Financial Risk Management (FRM) Americas, and a founder of 3 Squared Capital Partners, a technology, media and telecom focused event-driven hedge fund. He began his career at Deutsche Bank as a research analyst covering the telecom and network builder industries.

David holds a bachelor’s in business administration with a concentration in finance from the University of New Hampshire. He has completed a certificate program in capital markets from New York University.

With more than 25 years of experience, Tim leads our team of real estate and private equity experts in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Previously, Tim was a partner at a major European property consultancy, where he advised mainly private investors on the acquisition, sale and suitability of commercial real estate assets throughout the UK and across all sectors. He also advised several clients on the construction of major property portfolios.

Tim has a bachelor’s degree in estate management from the University of Westminster, is a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, and a member of the Investment Property Forum.

Asia Pacific

Marc is responsible for sourcing, diligencing, structuring and distributing Asia Pacific private equity and real estate investments to clients globally.

Before joining the Private Bank in 2012, Marc was in the Real Estate Investment Banking Group at Credit Suisse. He advised public and private real estate executive management teams and company boards on sell and buy side mergers and acquisitions, capital raising and financial strategy.

Previously, Marc worked at Merrill Lynch’s Global Structured Finance & Investments division, Credit Suisse’s Real Estate Finance & Securitization group, and Global Business Strategy & Business Solutions at Accenture.

He earned a bachelor’s from Vanderbilt University and an MBA from the Johnson School at Cornell University.
